with Riccardo Berdini

Magic is a fascinating and mysterious art, but learning how a trick works is not enough. What does it really mean to be a magician? In this workshop you're gonna learn some basic magic tricks and how to make them compelling for the audience. Riccardo Berdini is an Italian award winning musical performer and magician who can be seen regularly at The Magic Castle.

 

PAINTING &CRAFTING: AWAKE YOUR INNER ARTIST
with Ruth Warner

I belive there is an inner artist in all of us . So quiet the inner voice that told you are not artistic. This will be a time to play with different mediums (pencil, paint, clay, etc) to create art your own original master piece. A great time to challenge yourself or just a space get in touch with the artist you used to be. Ruth Warner: forever a student of artistic expression!

 

1A BREAD MAKING EXPERIENCE
with Paul Stephens

To many people, baking bread is very intimidating. This session will teach the basics in baking a simple, artisan loaf as well as some tasty variations that are easy to do at home. Paul Stephens is an experienced home-baker who is passionate about real bread! 

 

1TRY THIS AT HOME
with Corban Torstensen

Does your current abode need a reset? This session will give you a brief and slightly unconventional overview of the  elements of styling your home or office. Once the trade secrets are shared, you'll get to dream up your own unique style board via Pinterest, so bring those laptops. Corban is the owner and designer of The Here Company, a LA based home staging and interiors business. 

 

1TURNING INSIDE OUT IN POETRY
with Danielle Bennett

Poetry allows us access to places we otherwise might not go, and this workshop will help take us there. Through some Poetry 101 and creative exercises, you'll walk away with a messy amazing poem. Danielle works professionally as a poet and in communications.

 

1SHAPING THE FRAME WITH LIGHT
with Tim Cruz

How your decisions before you roll or snap the camera affect the story. We will play & talk about lighting with intention, and examine the characteristics of lens choice. Tim is Filipino but grew up in NY. He also directs movies (Secrets at the Lake, Starting Up Love) commercials, pilots and music videos. He’s pretty chill.

with Dakota Adan & Jasmine Rafael

Join us for a session where we walk you through connecting to your body, using dance and music as a means of expression. Jasmine and Dakota have been dancing for most of their lives, and have been blessed to make careers out of what they love. Their hope is to foster a healthier relationship between ourselves and the body we are given.

In this workshop, we will go over the key elements in songwriting: melody, structure and lyrics. We’ll work on some group songwriting exercises as well as go over some of the common threads found in contemporary songwriting. Perfect for those who never have written a song before or are in the early stages of their songwriting career. LeyeT (pron. light) is an artist and songwriter based in LA, who’s also a part of the core team cultivating a community of songwriters: Los Angeles Songwriters Collective.

 

1DE-MYSTIFYING MIXOLOGY: CRAFT COCKTAILS BEYOND THE BAR
with Dan Prevette

Learn the secret all those high priced Speakeasies and vest clad barkeepers don't want you to know; anyone can make a drink!  We'll go over the basics of cocktails and learn some classic recipe's anyone can prepare at home.  Dan Prevette has worked in multiple high volume, craft cocktail bars throughout LA for the last 6 years.

This very real and informative workshop will cover the basics of gardening: prepping your soil (and your soul) for maximum happiness, our So Cal planting seasons, protecting your crops, and providing the best nutrition for your plant babies. This class is perfect for beginners and intermediate gardeners who want to take it to the next level and will teach you everything you need to know to tend the literal garden of your soul. Loretta Allison is a garden consultant, horticulture coach, and edible landscaper living in her hometown of Los Angeles and owner of Spade & Seeds.

In this session, Meredith will break down the infamous Marie Kondo Method of tidying up and why it succeeds where other organizing methods fail. You'll learn how the method can benefit your creative process and even try your hand at some folding that will change your life. David will be teaching an introduction to juggling workshop. After this class you will leave with the skills necessary to master three ball juggling. By day, David is a lawyer by night he is a husband, juggler and sometimes improviser.

 

HOW TO MAKE A PHOTO PRETTY
with Nick Rasmussen

We will cover the basics of using a SLR 35mm film camera, how to properly expose a subject on film, and whatever other questions I can answer in an hour. You will walk away knowing how to make pretty photos. Nick Rasmussen makes a living as a portrait photographer in Los Angeles.

Jonathan Green is an award-winning filmmaker and commercial director and a partner at content agency Conscious Minds.

 

1BRANDING + PERSONAL STYLING ROOTED IN PURPOSE
with Martha Anastasi & Sarah Magidoff

We believe the most captivating brands don’t just sell a product, they tell powerful stories. In this workshop, participants will walk through key exercises designed to help them 1) reflect upon their story and identify their purpose 2) connect their purpose to their brand’s mission, and 3) cultivate a professional image reflective of their values. 1RACIAL RECONCILIATION THROUGH CULTIVATING CULTURAL CURIOSITY

There is an urgent need for national and local dialogue around race so that we can work towards racial reconciliation and justice. This workshop will give perspective and tools to see our human and artistic selves and other cultures and races through God's eyes and discover how every culture – including our own – is both beautiful and broken. Len Tang planted Missio Community Church in Pasadena and is convening local leaders around racial reconciliation.

We’re gonna take this ancient tool and unlock the creative energy of each number, exploring how each number connects with its creative instincts.
